mmkay well ill start you off with what i see wrong
fire storm is bad on a ranger don't use it
read the wind + barrage = bad barrage removes RTW
Needs some interupts i.e savage shot or distracting shot
Troll really isnt needed in a team build
would suggest using
[barrage][distracting shot][savage shot][antidote signet][charm animal][comfort animal][favorable winds] and your optional.
thats only if you want to stay with barrage/pet usage
EDIT: dunno if its just my computer but i can't see the first three skills that I coded for. Barrage, savage, dshot. Been happening alot to me recently is it just my comp or is anyone else getting this?

Four points in Beast Mastery is not worth 2 slots on your bar; drop the pet. Use your points in Fire for [[Conjure Flame]. You will need a fiery bowstring for Conjure. [[Barrage] and [[Read the Wind] don't mix. [[Distracting Shot] is very good. You also have [[Troll Unguent] with zero points in Wilderness.

you can go conjure if you get an elemental bowstring
with that you can use the 9 in your fire magic for a better use then fire storm
use [conjure flame] when you upgrade your bow with a fiery bowstring
that way you'll get some more damage
the conjure stacks onto your barrage so it gets a better bonus
and why use [read the wind] when barrage removes preparations?

Your main problem here is you have no interrupts, as a Ranger.
[[Distracting Shot] should be stapled to all bow Ranger bars.
[[savage shot] is an extremely nice addition to your bar aswell, a secondary spammable interrupt is good.
As for your build, it is really quite bad. Read the Wind doesn't stack with Barrage, Needling Shot is quite weak outside of spamming on a dazed target, pets are quite useless outside of gimmicks, Troll Unguent is weak at a low spec and only good for splitting characters and Fire Storm really is quite bad in itself. Power Shot is quite sub-par for a damage skill, but you already have Barrage doing the mainstream damage.
As for reliance on heroes and henchmen, that isn't bad really. This is a team game where you need to have a team to have a chance unless you're dedicated to solo farming. For maximum speed and efficiency in completing most tasks you will need a party.
But seriously, the only way of improvement is by ripping your bar up.
Judging by the description, youhave at least Factions and Nightfall. This means you have 3 of the strongest Ranger elites usable in even PvE for you.
[burning arrow][broad head arrow][magebane shot]
Broad Head Arrow is all the caster shutdown you should ever need in PvE with a reasonable recharge. With an MM, it should be even more devastating.
Magebane Shot is a spammable interrupt that is unblockable and delays recharge time on enemy skills for an additional ten seconds. If you're running Distracting / Savage, remove Savage for it.
Burning Arrow offers extreme health degeneration pressure at a spammable rate.
My usual PvE Ranger bar consists of the following skills:
[broad head arrow][sloth hunter's shot][volley][distracting shot][savage shot][resurrection signet][no skill][no skill]
12+1 Marksmanship
12+1+1 Expertise
Sloth Hunter's and Volley are just in there so I have strong AoE and single target damage. Volley is mainly for Splinter Weapon though, which is the highest AoE damage dealing skill in the game, even moreso with the splash damage through Volley. If you don't have GW:EN, I suggest using Keen Arrow (Not sure on it's effectiveness but it looks good on paper) and saving the Volley slot for something else, such as a preperation like Apply Poison, which is considered the best preperation in the game. Just spread poison around with it with Tab.
I'll just give you a Nightfall / Factions BHA bar, but if you have any objections just say so. A little extra information would help too.
[broad head arrow][epidemic][distracting shot][savage shot][apply poison][natural stride][antidote signet][resurrection signet]
[broad head arrow][mending touch][distracting shot][savage shot][apply poison][natural stride][no skill][resurrection signet]
12+1+1 Expertise
9+1 Marksmanship
9+1 Wilderness Survival
As for the bow, I suggest a Poisoning Recurve Bow of Fortitude with a 15^50 mod inscription as a base weapon.

Just stick with barrage for now. Get Marksmanship up to 12-14, and put a bunch into Expertise as well.
Put Savage Shot/Distracting Shot on your bar. They're interrupts, but you should practice interrupting time to time. Try to interrupt 2-3 second casts at first; as you get better try to hit 1 second casts.
Barrage will remove Read the Wind; if you're looking for more ways to amplify your damage, you can use Conjure Flame, or preferably, Splinter Weapon.
Barrage is a good skill for newer players because it's a lot of damage, so just stick with it for now. Also - get rid of fire storm; as a primary ranger, it's terrible.
Don't put yourself down so much, you're only learning. If you want any tips or anything, I can help a bit.

To use 'Conjure Barrage', you need a bow with a Fiery mod on it.

20/20 is a terrible mod anyway, salvage it with a Perfect Salvage Kit so the bow doesn't break and sell it to someone else

I think you still got a 50% chance of breaking the item ( bow in this case ) even if you use a Perfect Salvage Kit.
I would say just apply the Fiery Bowstring over the Sundering just to be on the save side unless I am mistaken on the 50% chance.

Yes PERFECT = 50%, WTF? lol
20/20 has its place, barraging only really, but it's still out done by other strings, like a vamp in that instance.
Besides if Sundering is sooo bad, why are all the crap end game green bows sundeing for the most part?

Apart from spiking, which isn't useful in PvE, I would say to please the majority of the PvE crowd.
